at yosemite national park. today employees were tested tested for the virus. ktvu's robert handa tells us what he learned about the testing even though they were told not to talk about it. >> reporter: that is right, it wasn't a usual day. officials tested them for hantavirus. the goal, figure out how much of the park is an exposure risk. >> reporter: workers have been ordered not to talk about it but today officials tested 100 employees on a voluntary basis for hantavirus. it is spread by inspected deer mice and there have been 9 cases, three people died. today they filled out a questionnaire and give blood. >> it will look at hantavirus infection, any past infection and the questionnaire shows work habits, living habits, what kind of training they have had. >> reporter: it is a pilot program for the 2500 employees. some say this is a rare opportunity it learn more about hantavirus since many people can be infected without knowing it. >> we know when people get sick and show symptoms the mortality rate is high and they get sick and many die. it would be important to know for anybody in medici
